Reform California president condemns bill allowing illegal immigrants to sit on county central committee

Reform California chairman Carl DeMaio on Saturday slammed California Governor Gavin Newsom’s signing of a bill allowing certain illegal immigrants to sit on county central committees – one of many bills signed for the benefit of those who entered the country illegally.

“These bills aren’t just a token wake-up call, this is a fundamental redefinition of who should be elected in California, and they start small, but it’s absolutely the first step,” DeMaio told Fox. News.

NEWSOM SIGNS BILL TO REPLACE “ALIEN” IN CALIFORNIA LEGAL CODE

The bill was one of many bills that Newsom’s office described as “extending the state’s human immigration policies through the protection and support of immigrants” and included legislation ending the ‘use of “foreigner” to describe non-citizens.

Included was a bill that amends the California Election Code to allow what Newsom’s office described as “budding citizens” to be appointed and elected members of a county central committee. Supporters specifically mentioned “DREAMers” or Deferred Action for the Arrival of Children (DACA) beneficiaries – which protected illegal immigrants who came to the United States as children from deportation.

The bill says it “will allow a person who is not a US citizen, but who would be eligible to register to vote if the person were a US citizen, to serve as a member of the committee.”

These committees are governing bodies of county parties and deal with budget matters and other county-level affairs for those parties.

“It’s an election that’s on the official ballot that every voter receives, so the names of illegal immigrants will be printed on the ballots along with every other office, from the president to the school board,” DeMaio said.

He claimed it was part of a larger campaign to get illegal immigrants onto the ballots, and said that in other parts of the state there had been successful campaigns to get them to vote. school board elections.

“It is clearly a model and it is not going to end with this bill signed by Newsom,” he said.
